This role blends leadership with operational involvement, and is perfect for someone who thrives on driving standards, engaging with drivers, and influencing safety and performance outcomes.The role is central to developing driver performance, reducing operational risks, and ensuring legal and industry compliance.Key Responsibilities- Leadership & ManagementLead and support regional Driver Development CoachesEnsure consistent training quality across all sitesDevelop and maintain training policies and standardsReport on performance, compliance, and risk trends- Compliance & StandardsOversee compliance with DTAS, DVSA, Red Tractor, and internal auditsMaintain accurate and auditable driver training recordsCollaborate with compliance and transport teams to address risks- Driver Development ProgrammesManage the Driver CPC programmeDesign induction and training pathways for all driver levelsUse telematics data (e.g. Microlise) to drive performance improvements- Operational SupportConduct driver assessments and CPC training for high-priority casesSupport accident investigations with training-based corrective actionsCoach drivers flagged through telematics or incidents- Stakeholder EngagementLiaise with external training providers and regulatory bodiesCollaborate with HR, Health & Safety, Operations, and Fleet teamsWhat Were Looking For- Experience & QualificationsProven management experience in driver engagement, assessment and competence management.Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and complianceExperience managing CPC programmes and delivering trainingProficiency with telematics systems (e.g. Microlise)Advanced accident investigation trainingFull, clean UK driving licenceRecognised driver training qualification (e.g. RTITB, LGV Instructor) or equivalent experience- Skills & AttributesInspirational leadership and coaching skillsExcellent communication and presentation abilitiesStrong organisational and analytical skillsAbility to influence, challenge, and drive continuous improvementSelf-motivated, reflective, and resilient under pressureReady to Make a Difference?Ready to drive change and shape the future of our driver workforce?
