A well established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a full time basis. The company delivers a diverse mix of projects including groundworks, infrastructure, marine, water, flood defence and sea defence works.Quantity Surveyor Job Description:The successful Quantity Surveyor will take ownership of commercial activities across the full project lifecycle, from initial costing through to final account. You will work closely with the Commercial Director and wider delivery team to ensure strong commercial performance, effective cost control and contractual compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the commercial function from project initiation through completionProvide commercial advice, planning and assurance to the Project ManagerLead procurement and contract negotiationsPrepare and manage variations, valuations and payment applicationsMaintain accurate cost tracking and commercial reportingManage subcontractor payments, assessments and final accountsEnsure adherence to contractual and financial processesSupport the development of junior or commercial team members where neededIdentify opportunities to maximise project profitabilityQuantity Surveyor Requirements:Proven background in civil engineering or groundworksStrong experience delivering full QS duties independentlyExposure to water, flood defence, sea defence or marine projects is highly desirableExcellent understanding of NEC contracts and construction processesStrong commercial acumen and attention to detailConfident managing multiple projects and deadlinesAbility to work collaboratively with delivery, site and project teamsWhat is on OfferFull time role with long term stabilityOpportunity to work on varied projects including coastal and marine schemesA relaxed working environmentSupportive and established civil engineering teamCompetitive day rate (self employed).Genuine progression opportunities within a growing teamIf you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a full time role with a respected civil engineering contractor, please submit your CV or get in touch with Alex Haynes to discuss the position in more detail.TPBN1_UKTJ
