PV Engineer/ TechnicianSolar FarmSalary: £45,000£50,000 per year (DOE)Job Type: Full-time, permanentLocation: Sites across the UK (region-based)Schedule: MondayFriday with a paid weekend rota (approx. 1 in 5 weekends) and occasional overnight staysWhy this is a great opportunityOur client is one of Europes leading solar-energy firms, responsible for building, running, and maintaining large-scale solar farms across the UK and further afield.With a global track record of over 500 solar projects and more than 5.6 GW of installed capacity worldwide, our client takes a forward-looking approach to renewable energy and invests in its teams.Working with them means you contribute directly to the green energy transition in the UKa meaningful role that helps power communities and supports long-term environmental goals.What Youll DoCarry out routine maintenance, inspections, and remedial work on solar PV systems (AC & DC)Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fixes as neededDiagnose and resolve electrical faults, using industry-standard testing equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, etc.)Produce clear, accurate site reports after each visit via the online reporting systemConduct job-specific risk assessments, report near-misses, and ensure strict health & safety complianceSupervise and coordinate third-party contractors when requiredMaintain detailed electrical test records, suitable for auditsWork occasional nights away or on weekends (with extra pay)What Theyre Looking For?Essential3+ years experience on utility-scale, ground-mounted Solar PV O&M projectsLevel 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical InstallationsC&G 2382-18C&G 2391-52 (or equivalent testing qualification)HV AP qualificationStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsSolid understanding of AC & DC systems and experience using testing toolsFull UK driving licenceDesirableHarness-trained (or willingness to complete training)First Aid and Fire Marshal trainingIOSH Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to train)Experience with central inverters, SCADA, CCTV or battery-storage integrationFamiliarity with high-voltage systems (33 kV) and associated switching / maintenanceBenefits & PerksBonus up to 12.5% (performance / KPI based)Private pension with employer contributions up to 6%Full private health cover (option to extend to family)Life insurance at 4 annual salaryAccess to perks via employee benefit platform33 days holiday (including bank holidays)Structured training and career-development opportunitiesBe part of a meaningful missionsupporting the UKs shift to renewable energyWhy would you choose our client?By joining them, you become part of an international team thats shaping the future of energy.
