Youll be part of a cross-functional engineering team in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, supporting operations to minimise downtime, maximise efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across our production lines.This hands-on role involves planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting operational teams to ensure we meet production targets and maintain compliance with site standards.MUST HAVE:Essential Skills & ExperienceTime-served, apprentice-trained engineer (electrical or mechanical bias)NVQ Level 3 / ONC / BTEC in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)Strong fault-finding and analytical skillsGood understanding of automation and FMCG machineryStrong organisational, communication, and IT skills (Microsoft Office & CMMS)Health & safety conscious, detail-oriented, and team-focusedAbility to work independently or as part of a cross-functional teamDesirable18th Edition Electrical Wiring RegulationsPrevious experience in FMCG or regulated environmentsKey Responsibilities:Provide 24/7 maintenance and breakdown support to New Mills production processesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and record work accurately in CMMS (Shire)Diagnose and repair equipment faults, ensuring minimal downtimeSupport operational teams and provide cover during breaks and absencesMaintain safe, clean, and organised working environments in line with GMP and H&S standardsLiaise with contractors, manage permits to work (if trained), and support machinery installation/decommissioningIdentify improvement opportunities to enhance safety, efficiency, and product qualityCommunicate effectively with team leaders and production managers regarding priorities and issuesTrain, coach, and support colleagues where neededWhat We Offer:Competitive pay:£23.04 per hourShift pattern:4 on 4 off (Days & Nights)average 42 hours per weekBenefits:Company pension, paid holidays, sick pay scheme, and other benefits as outlined in the employee handbookProgression:Opportunity to move from C8 start rate to C9 following successful probationDevelopment:Ongoing training and support for professional growthTPBN1_UKTJ
