Senior Electrical Design EngineerLocation:Durham:Senior Electrical Design EngineerJob Type: Full-time | PermanentSalary: £45,000per annumHBG Recruitment is proud to be representing a respected MEP design consultancy delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-quality building services engineering solutions across the commercial, residential, healthcare, and education sectors.With a strong focus on engineering excellence, collaboration, and energy efficiency, our client is looking to strengthen their Durham team with an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and deliver high-calibre design projects from concept through to completion.The Role:Senior Electrical Design EngineerAs aSenior Electrical Design Engineeryoull play a key role in the design, coordination, and technical delivery of electrical building services projects. Youll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients, taking ownership of project stages, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring design integrity and compliance with industry standards.Key Responsibilities:Senior Electrical Design EngineerLead the design and development of electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting, small power, fire alarms, and security systems.Prepare and review technical drawings, calculations, and specifications in line with project requirements.Manage the delivery of electrical design packages from concept through detailed design and construction stages.Conduct and oversee site inspections, surveys, and commissioning reviews.Collaborate closely with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure full design integration.Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior and intermediate engineers.Lead internal design reviews and ensure quality control and compliance with BS standards and Building Regulations.Contribute to energy-efficient, sustainable, and low-carbon design strategies.Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to maintain high levels of communication and satisfaction.Essential Skills & Experience:Senior Electrical Design EngineerDegree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).Minimum 5+ years experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy prehensive knowledge of BS standards, IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition), and UK Building Regulations.Proficient in Amtech, AutoCAD, and Dialux/Relux (Revit experience advantageous).Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards Chartership (IET/CIBSE).Whats on Offer:Senior Electrical Design Engineer£45,000 per annumFlexible and hybrid working arrangementsOngoing professional development and Chartership supportOpportunity to lead projects across diverse, high-profile sectorsCollaborative and forward-thinking team cultureLong-term career progression within a respected consultancyTPBN1_UKTJ
