HGV Technician (Split Shifts) Location: Heathrow Salary: up to £42,000 basic per annumDOE plus shift allowance, bonus and overtimeOTE up to £60,000 Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday (Split Shift) Ref: 29454 We are looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join our clients workshop in Heathrow, specialising in fleet vehicles, including Transits, Sprinters, and a variety of other LCVs and HGVs. This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse range of vehicles, offering both challenging and rewarding experiences in a dynamic environment. This role operates on a split shift rotation, alternating weekly between:06:0014:30 (30-minute unpaid lunch)14:0022:30 The role is fully workshop-based, and you are not expected to do any call outs. Call-out work is available for those who want it, but there is already full cover in place, meaning there is no obligation and the role offers excellent earning potential through:Monthly bonus availableOvertime paid at 1.5xAdditional weekend hours paid at 1.5xShift allowance of £40 per dayBenefits for HGV TechnicianTraining and development opportunities for career progressionGreat pension schemeCompany discountsShift allowance (£40 per day)Overtime paid at time and a half HGV Technician ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issuesPerform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspectionsUse diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issuesCarry out repairs including clutches, brakes, suspension, wheel alignments and moreMaintain efficient workflow while ensuring high-quality repair standardsKeep accurate records of all work performed and parts usedCommunicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendationsMaintain a clean and organised work areaKeep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques HGV Technician RequirementsNVQ Level 3 equivalent or higherAt least 1 year of experience as a vehicle technicianExperience working with HGVs preferred (MAN experience desirable and paid at a higher rate)Ability to use diagnostic tools and softwareStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsValid drivers licence All applications will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
