School Cook - DN41Location:DN41 Hours:8:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Pay Rate:£16.32 per hour Enhanced DBS requiredWe are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiasticSchool Cookto join the catering team at a welcoming and supportive school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with Chef de Partie-level experience who is passionate about producing nutritious, high-quality meals for children in an educational setting.Key Responsibilities:Preparing and cooking daily school meals in line with dietary and nutritional standardsManaging a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared on time and to a high standardAssisting in planning menus that are both child-friendly and nutritionally balancedSupervising kitchen assistants and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operationsMaintaining excellent hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards at all timesMonitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering suppliesAdhering to all food hygiene and health & safety regulationsSupporting with allergen control and individual dietary needs where requiredWhat We're Looking For:Previous experience as a Cook or Chef (Chef de Partie level or similar), ideally in a school or similar settingA good understanding of food safety, allergens, and nutritional standardsAbility to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced environmentFriendly, approachable, and able to work well within a small teamAn Enhanced DBS checkis essential for this roleIf you're passionate about providing healthy meals for children and want a rewarding role that fits around school hours, we'd love to hear from you.
