An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Controller to join a thriving Transaction Shared Service centre based in Blackburn. This role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in transforming the finance department as the organisation continues its impressive growth journey. You will be at the heart of maximising cash collection and minimising risk, all while exceeding key performance indicators and ensuring debts are collected efficiently and in line with company policies. T As a Credit Controller, you will take ownership of managing customer accounts with precision and care, focusing on maximising cash flow while minimising financial risk. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve maintaining detailed records, resolving queries swiftly, and collaborating closely with both internal teams and external customers. Success in this role requires you to be highly organised, responsive to challenges, and committed to driving improvements in debt recovery processes. Specific duties include: Manage your own portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring outstanding debts are collected promptly and in accordance with company policy. Maintain a proactive approach to debt collection to consistently meet or exceed cash collection targets set by the department. Keep accurate records of all chasing activities and payment promises to ensure transparency and accountability within your portfolio. Resolve customer queries efficiently, escalating issues in a timely manner to maintain strong relationships and minimise delays. Drive continuous improvement by reducing the number of days debts remain overdue through effective monitoring and follow-up. Oversee the setup of new customer accounts, including setting appropriate credit limits and controlling risk exposure. Assist other team members with their workload when required, fostering a supportive and co-operative team environment. Ideally you will have experience in the following: Proven experience working within Credit Control or Accounts Receivable environments where accuracy is paramount. Strong working knowledge of MS Office products, particularly advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting. Excellent analytical abilities combined with effective problem-solving skills that enable you to resolve complex queries quickly. Outstanding communication skills that allow you to adapt your style according to different customer profiles for optimal results. Demonstrated negotiation skills that help achieve favourable outcomes while maintaining positive relationships. Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster trust and collaboration among colleagues and clients alike.
