We are recruiting on behalf of an established main contractor with a strong regional presence who are seeking an Experienced Estimator to join their expanding team in Cambridge. The role is office-based in Cambridge, working closely with an experienced Estimating Team while benefiting from flexibility to work from other regional offices when required. Estimator Suitability: This position suits either: An intermediate Estimator looking to progress within a large and stable organisation,or An experienced Estimator seeking to contribute their expertise to a forward-thinking contractor known for promoting from within.Estimator Key Responsibilities:Produce cost plans including first-principles pricingTake off quantities using Autodesk Design ReviewLead tender enquiries and prepare detailed work package allocationsAssess subcontractor quotes, identify scope gaps and propose value-engineering solutionsPrice preliminaries and competitive tenders under guidance of senior teamBenchmark using data and forecasting toolsReview commercial and contract informationAttend client meetings and present tender informationPrepare risk and opportunity registersConduct site visits and liaise with internal departments for material and labour pricingEstimator Required Skills & Experience:Proven estimating experience within construction (experience in Commercial, MOD, Education or Healthcare sectors advantageous but not essential)Familiarity with a range of procurement routes including D&B, Traditional and 2-StageStrong numeracy, commercial awareness and attention to detailExcellent communication skillswritten, verbal and client-facingProficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Causeway/Excel-based estimating tools desirableHighly organised, proactive and able to meet tight deadlinesFull UK driving licenceEstimator Benefits:Competitive salary (negotiable DOE)Company car or car allowance25 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)Contributory pension schemeFree parkingReward and discount platform accessSupport for professional development and further trainingStandard hours: 8:15am5:00pm, Monday to FridayTPBN1_UKTJ
