Cover Supervisor Location: Middlesbrough Organisation: Hello Education Contract Type: Temporary (potential for permanent placement) Inspire. Lead. Support. Hello Education is pleased to be working with a number of Secondary Schools across Middlesbrough to recruit confident, adaptable, and motivated Cover Supervisors for the current academic term. This role offers an exciting opportunity to step into the classroom and play a vital part in supporting pupils learning when teachers are absent. As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and help pupils stay engaged and on track across a variety of subjects. Key Responsibilities Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lesson plans in the absence of the class teacher. Ensure pupils remain focused, engaged, and on-task throughout lessons. Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting a calm and purposeful environment. Provide general support to pupils, responding to questions and encouraging positive participation. Adapt to cover a range of subjects and year groups as required. Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate member of staff. Person Specification We are seeking individuals who: Have experience (or a strong desire to gain experience) working with children in a UK-based school setting. Communicate confidently and professionally, maintaining strong classroom presence. Possess good behaviour management skills with a calm, positive approach. Are adaptable and able to step into different subjects or year groups with confidence. Hold (or are willing to obtain) a valid Enhanced DBS certificate.
