Production Engineer Panel Shop A leading manufacturer in the electrical control panel industry is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join their team. This role is based in a modern factory environment, producing panels for the Highways, Street Lighting, and Electric Vehicle Charging sectors. Salary: 40,000 Hours: 40 hours per week Working Days: Monday to Friday, with overtime as required to meet commercial demands Role Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient production of high-quality electrical control panels that meet technical specifications and are delivered on schedule. This position involves managing a team of approximately 15 manufacturing operatives and panel wirers, driving continuous improvement, and supporting operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and develop a team of panel builders, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Oversee daily production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and standards. Review technical drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications to guide accurate build processes. Conduct inspections to maintain compliance with industry standards. Coordinate workflow, allocate tasks, and manage resources to maximise productivity. Liaise with design, procurement, and project teams to resolve technical issues. Maintain shop floor organisation, tooling, and health & safety practices. Support training, performance monitoring, and skills development within the team. Assist with panel building during peak demand or complex builds. Drive initiatives to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency. Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues. Skills & Experience Proven experience in electrical panel assembly and team supervision. Strong understanding of control panel wiring, components, and industry standards. Ability to interpret detailed electrical drawings and documentation. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Commitment to safety, accuracy, and high-quality workmanship.
