Our client, a leading engineering group based in Sheffield is seeking a Technical Manager to support its global operations and uphold the highest standards in materials, manufacturing, and compliance. If you're a detail-driven professional with a passion for metallurgy and quality assurance, this role offers real scope to make an impact. Interested candidates will ideally be degree qualified in metallurgy or a related discipline OR 5+ Years in a similar role. You will be focal point in the business to support with all technical and metallurgical requirements within the group. What Youll Be Doing Responding to internal and external technical queries Supporting Quality Assurance and Test Lab Managers with audits and investigations Leading root cause analysis for technical NCRs and driving corrective actions Conducting internal audits of QMS and ISO 17025 systems Reviewing quarantine areas and maintaining global mill supplier records Witnessing forging operations and directing heat treatment processes Preparing manufacturing plans aligned with sales orders Advising Sales and Purchasing teams on technical specifications and supplier capabilities What Success Looks Like Zero accidents or near-miss incidents Compliance with all HSE and quality policies Achievement of departmental quality objectives High levels of internal and external customer satisfaction What Youll Bring Degree in Metallurgy or related discipline, or 5+ years relevant experience Strong knowledge of steel and nickel mill suppliers, and local forge operations Familiarity with Aerospace Technical & Quality standards (desirable) Proficiency in Microsoft Word and internal systems (QM, iMetal, QNG, MSS2) A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a commitment to safety and quality Leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving skills TPBN1_UKTJ
