Key requirements include: Proven experience working as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA or similar role Strong MS SQL Server knowledge, including schema interrogation, query optimisation, and performance tuning Experience with on-premise and cloud database environments , particularly Azure SQL Solid understanding of ITIL processes and structured problem resolution The ability to work collaboratively with developers, DevOps, and business teams Strong communication skills to clearly engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related discipline Financial Services experience is advantageous but not essential Desirable Experience It would be beneficial if you also have experience with: High Availability via Always-On or Basic Availability Groups Backup/restore (DB/transaction logs) PowerShell scripting (dbatools or SqlServer modules) SQL Server maintenance (Agent Jobs, Monitoring, Configuration) Partitioning, snapshots, and change data capture Understanding of SAN arrays (e.g., Nimble, PURE, or equivalent) Why Join?
