Vertical Borer Setter/Operator Manual or CNC Location: Ashton-Under-Lyne Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay: Skill-dependent, paid weekly We are expanding our machining team and have opportunities for experienced Manual Vertical Borer Setter/Operators and CNC Vertical Borer Setter/Operator/Programmers . These roles involve producing medium to heavy workpieces to customer specifications within a busy engineering environment. Main Responsibilities: Set and operate vertical boring machines (manual or CNC depending on role). Interpret and work from customer engineering drawings and specifications. Produce medium to heavy components to required tolerances. Perform self-inspection of machined work using measuring equipment. Ensure machines are properly maintained, cleaned, and operated safely. Complete required documentation and quality records. Work effectively as part of the machining team to meet production targets. Follow company Health & Safety procedures at all times. Support overtime requirements when needed to meet customer demand. Positions Available: Manual Vertical Borer Setter/Operator Shifts: 1 position just days, 1 position just nights Pay: 15.00 18.00 per hour (skill dependent) Requirements: Experience setting and operating manual vertical boring machines or a strong turning background. Ability to work to customer drawings and specifications. Confident in self-inspection. Willing to work overtime when required. CNC Vertical Borer Setter/Operator/Programmer Shifts: 1 position just nights Pay: 17.00 20.00 per hour (skill dependent) Requirements: Experience setting, operating, and programming CNC vertical borers/lathes using Fanuc controls . Experience using Cimco CAD/CAM or Fusion for programming is beneficial. Ability to work to customer drawings and specifications. Confident in self-inspection. Willing to work overtime when required. Shift Patterns: Day Shift (37 paid hours) Mon Thu: 08:00 16:30 Fri: 08:00 13:00 30-minute unpaid lunch MonThu; no lunch on Fridays Expected to complete a minimum of 10 hours overtime per week Overtime paid as time and a third on Weekdays, time and a half on Sundays Night Shift (4 12-hour shifts) Mon Thu: 18:00 06:00 Paid lunch break Overtime available after 13:00 Friday, plus Saturday & Sunday paid at time and a half Benefits Weekly pay every Friday Company pension scheme (total 8% contribution 5% employee, 3% employer) Health & Safety-based bonus 250 every 6 months Regular overtime opportunities Stable, long-term employment in a well-established engineering environment TPBN1_UKTJ
