Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and people-focused Employment Coach to deliver high-quality, person-centred employability support as part of the Connect to Work programme across Oxfordshire. Working directly with individuals facing barriers to employment, you will champion their strengths, build their confidence, and actively promote them to local employers. You will create tailored action plans, support customers into meaningful and sustainable work, and deliver ongoing In-Work Support to help individuals thrive in their roles. This is a community-based position requiring strong interpersonal skills, employer engagement capability, and a genuine commitment to improving peoples lives. Key Responsibilities: Customer Support & Case Management Create tailored action plans for each customer and ensure all agreed activities are delivered effectively and on time. Provide regular one-to-one support to individuals, both pre-employment and post-placement. Offer constructive challenge, guidance and coaching to help customers overcome barriers and build employability skills. Deliver high-quality In-Work Support to help customers sustain employment long-term. Maintain accurate, compliant customer records documenting progress, activities and outcomes. Employer & Stakeholder Engagement Promote customers to employers as valuable candidates and highlight the support available through the programme. Build relationships with local employers to identify and create vacancy opportunities. Advocate for inclusive recruitment practices and work collaboratively with employers to maximise opportunities. Facilitate work trials, placements and shadowing opportunities where appropriate. Work closely with local partners, including Enterprise Oxfordshire, to deliver an integrated, aligned approach for residents and employers. Programme Delivery & Quality Identify and recommend training, development and vacancy solutions based on customer needs. Develop strong knowledge of local signposting pathways, including services related to disabilities, benefits, housing, mental health and other challenges. Meet all performance expectations, KPIs, quality standards and compliance requirements. Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection standards at all times. Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture focused on high-quality outcomes. Essential Criteria: Passion for supporting people and a solution-focused mindset. Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment, including health conditions or disabilities. Experience providing one-to-one coaching, guidance or employability support. Strong ability to build networks, partnerships and meaningful employer relationships. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy and varied caseload. Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings or weekends where required. Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR requirements. Desirable Criteria: Full driving licence and access to a vehicle due to community-based delivery. Experience supporting individuals into work or delivering employability programmes. Understanding of supported employment models (e.g., IPS). Degree or equivalent experience in target-driven roles such as recruitment, sales, customer service or case management.
