Cambridge City Council is seeking two passionate Private Sector Tenancy Enforcement Officers to help ensure tenants in the private rented sector are treated fairly, safeguarded from poor practices, and live in safe, good condition homes.About the RoleAs a Tenancy Enforcement Officer, you’ll be at the forefront of enforcing the Renters’ Rights Act:Investigate complaints and conduct property inspections.Advise and support tenants through advocacy and casework.Work with landlords, letting agents, and stakeholders to ensure compliance.Take enforcement action when necessary to uphold tenants’ rights and prevent homelessness.You’ll be part of a team that is accountable, compassionate, courageous, and collaborative, living our values every day while protecting our community.What We’re Looking For:We’re looking for candidates with experience working with the public, handling investigations, and delivering advice or advocacy. You should be able to manage a busy workload, communicate clearly, and with knowledge of relevant legislation, apply legal and housing standards confidently.
