As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.Job SummaryThe Controls TFA IV, having completed level IV competencies, manages controls activities on site during the Installation & Commissioning and Maintenance of turbines (generator or mechanical drive). Responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesActively manage controls activities on site during Installation & Commissioning and Maintenance of turbines, including but not limited to oversight of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostics on turbine and auxiliary systemsPlan, organize, integrate, and direct labor and tool and material allocationUnderstand PLC ladder logic, including basic understanding of how to navigate through ladder rungs while troubleshootingRead and interpret electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagramsEnsure the correct installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning and maintenance practices are followedProvide general knowledge of turbine instrumentation calibration, including various types of transmittersProvide technical expertise to customers, service support, field technicians and operatorsProvide timely and accurate internal and external reportsEnsure contractual obligations are metAttend technical meetings with CustomersEnsure all in-field activities are carried out safely complying with company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and proceduresProvide expert consultation on complex projectsProvide customers with technical direction and support on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packaged productsOverall responsibility of the management of site activities including planning, organizing, integrating and directing of resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirementsAbility and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignmentsTravel extensively (internationally and domestically)May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor Degree in Engineering and/or 10 years of experience without formal degree, in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant equipment installation/ commissioning.Successful completion of required level IV training programs is a minimum requirement.Demonstrated progressive, responsible experience with various types of turbine generator equipment and site accountabilities is required.English proficiency requiredDesired CharacteristicsExpert level. Able to act as a senior rep on any outage for the unit qualified.
