The role encompasses elements of technical programming, and will ultimately involve leading projects of varying complexity and require an experienced project manager with a consistent track record of delivering projects within office, lab, and critical infrastructure environments.Your extensive construction management background will enable you to define and capture technical program requirements, develop statements of work, lead RFP efforts, and drive projects and project teams through architectural design, permitting, construction, and turnover. Strong interpersonal skills are a must. This role will gather feedback from customers across the organization and deliver on project needs within set budget and schedule parameters.This role is an individual contributor and will require you to possess the technical knowledge to challenge assumptions and collaborate with outsourced vendors to facilitate project delivery. Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to deliver results in high pressure environments. The company is experiencing significant growth and the facilities team needs a project manager that can operate in a fluid environment and meet project commitments to support the dynamic needs of the organization.The day-to-dayBidding architectural, engineering, and construction services, facilitating bid leveling and objective selection of vendorsLeading the planning and building process, completing projects within budget, schedule, quality, & safety objectives Oversight of vendor performance, ensuring ViaSat’s project goals are metAssist in developing annual capital budgets and delivering on budget/ schedule targetsDirect oversight of project finances and providing regular updates and reporting to management on actual spend vs original budgetFacilitating weekly project meetings briefing team members on project status, scheduled work, and action items Obtaining project closeout materials from external vendors, verifying that the facilities document control archive is equipped with up-to-date informationConducting up-front space planning effort for assigned projects, which will be summarized and approved in a formal program summary that outlines project requirements for key customersGathering detailed technical (equipment lists/ utilities) program requirements for new or modified space, engaging all the appropriate team members (business lead, real estate, security, IT, EHS, etc.)Internal and external research and data collection to support strategic real estate and planning initiativesPeriodically revisit original program requirements during design and construction to confirm the project is adhering to the approved requirementsSupport space planning functions including seat assignments, employee moves, test fits, growth forecasting and data analysisCollaborate with the real estate team during property selection to compile tour packages, visit site locations, provide test fits, capital estimates, and assist in the completion of a scoring matrix to rank prospective sitesWhat You'll NeedStrong background experience in project management with oversight of design, engineering, construction, and commissioning vendorsExperience in a variety of project types including commercial office, lab and major infrastructure upgradesFamiliarity with List-X design and construction, as well as other government security classifications (UK, US, and Australia)Deep understanding of construction drawings, building specifications, contract methodology, and technical systems/ trades (MEPF)Understanding of commercial design principles and space planning guidelinesStrong work ethic with a positive demeanorConfidence to speak with leaders, present issues clearly, and lead effective presentationsExcellent communication, collaboration, writing and reporting skillsProficiency using Microsoft Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, VergeSense, ProLease, CoStar, MRI.BS Degree or relevant experienceAbility to travel up to 15%What Will Help You On The JobAccountability - taking ownership, getting results and keeping our promisesFlexibility - willing to accept change and continually make improvementsCollaboration - gathering broad feedback and making informed decisionsExcellence - aspiring for perfection and providing a high level of customer satisfaction EEO StatementViasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
