This is a premium-level operation where standards are high, equipment is modern, and the successful Plant Fitter will take real ownership of keeping a high-performing fleet in peak condition.This position is ideal for a Plant Fitter who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving complex mechanical issues, and wants a stable, long-term role with a company that invests heavily in its machinery and people.The Role:As a Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring all plant equipment is serviced, repaired and maintained to the highest standard. This is a mixed workshop/mobile setup where no two days are the same.• Service, repair and maintain a wide fleet of plant machinery• Diagnose engine faults, complete strip-downs and rebuilds (rocker covers, internals, etc.)• Carry out major and minor repairs to compressors and trailers — the most frequent tasks in this role• Deliver reactive and planned maintenance as a mobile Plant Fitter when required• Ensure all equipment is compliant, reliable, safe and ready for hire• Complete thorough documentation and inspection reports• Maintain exceptional attention to detail — reliability and uptime are criticalYou will work across a mixed and modern fleet, including:• Excavators• Dumpers• Rollers• Compressors• Generators• Trailers (1.5–3 tonne)• Cabin welfare units (7/12/15 person – hybrid solar)• Telehandlers• BowsersThis is an excellent opportunity for a Plant Fitter who enjoys varied work, modern kit and the chance to work across both workshop and field-based engineering.The Candidate:• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Workshop Fitter or Mobile Plant Fitter• Strong background in engine diagnostics, strip-downs and repairs• Confident working on compressors, trailers and mixed plant fleets• High personal standards — someone who wants the job done properly first time• Able to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit engineering team• Reliable, organised and committed to maintaining a high-quality hire fleet• Full UK driving licence (preferred for mobile work)If you are a Plant Fitter who takes pride in precision, enjoys high-quality machinery and wants a secure position within a respected plant hire business — this role is for you.The Benefits:• £45,000–£50,000 basic salary• Overtime available• Modern fleet and excellent working conditions• Secure, long-term position within a reputable growing business• Training and development opportunities• Supportive management team with high engineering standardsThis is a standout opportunity for a Plant Fitter looking to progress their career with a respected plant hire company who truly value engineering excellence.
