Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire, South East, UKOn behalf of a well-established accountancy firm, we are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to work in the firms Agriculture & Property Department in what is essentially a management role. The role can be based in Banbury, Kettering or Stratford Upon Avon and will involve managing a portfolio of predominantly agricultural and rural businesses, delivering accounting and tax planning services.This is a fantastic opportunity for an accounting professional with an in depth understanding of the agricultural sector and rural businesses and you will deliver tax and accounting services to a client portfolio whilst managing a committed team.Along with a competitive salary you will receive a comprehensive benefits package including:Flexible working patternsPension and healthcare plan28 days holiday (managers) plus bank holidaysDeath in ServiceEnhanced maternity leaveAdditional voluntary benefitsAs Senior Accountant your responsibilities will include:Providing bespoke, high-quality accounting and tax service and advice to clients, on a cost effective & timely basisResponding to client queries in a timely manner and liaising with others including HMRCTake more advanced work from partners and delegate more routine work to others, and promote training within the teamGet to know clients and their businesses becoming the main point of contactReviewing accounts and tax returns prepared by more junior staff, including corporate and unincorporated clientsAssisting with the management of the Agriculture and Property DepartmentOverseeing the work of junior team members and completing staff appraisals and providing feedbackEnsuring work is planned and progressed in an efficient, timely and cost-effective mannerSeeking to identify business and tax planning opportunities, VAT issues, NIC issues, business planning points, etc as part of the review processAssisting partners with specific assignments- e.g. business planning, advisory and tax matters and controlling WIPWe welcome applications for this Senior Accountant role from candidates with the following:ACA, ACCA or CTA qualificationexceptional qualified by experience applications will be consideredAt least 3 years accounts and tax experience within an accountancy practice environmentExperience at manager level within a practiceExperience with rural business or related servicesIn depth knowledge of accounts preparation and able to complete accounts files quickly, accurately and efficientlyComprehensive and in-depth tax knowledge and able to complete returns quickly and accuratelyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong general IT skills and good knowledge of accounting softwareSubmit your CV for this Senior Accountant roleUnfortunately, we cannot accept applications for this role from candidates that do not have the right to work in the UK, or require visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.
