About the Role Atkinson Baker Associates are currently partnering with a highly respected and well-established main contractor to appoint an Interim Quantity Surveyor for a flagship 30m design & build hotel project in Central London. This is a key commercial role within the project team, with a strong focus on procurement , while also requiring experience and exposure across pre-contract, in-contract and post-contract stages . The initial requirement is for three months; however, for the right individual, there is a clear opportunity for longer-term engagement across the contractor's strong pipeline of London-based projects. Project Details Project Value: 30m Sector: Hotel / Hospitality Contract Form: JCT Design & Build Client: Highly reputable main contractor with an excellent industry reputation Key Responsibilities Pre-Contract / Early Stage Assist with tender documentation, cost plans and procurement strategy. Review subcontract and supplier tender returns. Support commercial input during early project stages. Procurement Lead and manage procurement of subcontract and supply packages. Evaluate, negotiate and agree commercial terms. Work closely with project and design teams to align procurement with programme and budget. In-Contract Commercial Management Support valuations, variations, cost reporting and forecasting. Assist with contract administration under JCT D&B. Monitor costs, risks and opportunities throughout the build phase. Post-Contract Support final account preparation and agreement. Assist with commercial close-out and project reporting. Contribute to lessons-learned and handover processes. Candidate Requirements Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor . Strong knowledge of JCT Design & Build contracts . Demonstrable experience across procurement, cost control, valuations and final accounts . Exposure to pre-contract, in-contract and post-contract . Experience working on medium to large-scale commercial projects (hotel experience advantageous but not essential). Strong commercial awareness and ability to work autonomously in an interim capacity. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
