This role offers the opportunity to provide key support to the Finance Director and legal teams, working within a well-organised and collaborative finance function. The firm operates a hybrid working model, with 2 to 3 days per week in the London office and the remainder worked remotely, subject to departmental requirements.This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Cashier looking to join a growing team that values career development and long-term progression. Formal accounting qualifications are not required, although experience within a property-focused legal environment is essential.Responsibilities include:Monitoring client accounts, checking receipts and notifying fee earnersCarrying out daily bank reconciliations for client and office accountsEnsuring all transactions comply with firm policies and the Solicitors’ Accounts RulesProcessing BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments and international transfersPosting transactions to the case management systemManaging office receipts and payments, including client-to-office transfersAssisting with aged debt managementProcessing bills and uploading disbursement recordsSupporting finance-related projects such as inactive matters, residual balances and file storageMaintaining accurate and well-organised electronic filing systemsResolving account queries and liaising with fee earners on ledger balancesSkills & Experience3–4 years’ experience working in a legal accounts functionExperience within residential and/or commercial property environmentsStrong understanding of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and VAT regulationsWorking knowledge of AML requirementsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing prioritiesConfident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with fee earners and colleaguesProficient in Microsoft Excel and WordSystems-focused and comfortable working under pressure in a high-volume environmentDesirable (Not Essential)Experience using PracticeEvolve or similar case management systemsKnowledge of double-entry bookkeepingThis role would suit a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Cashier seeking a varied and responsible position within a supportive London-based team.The detailsSalary up to £40,000 DOELondon/hybrid workingEstablished London law firmIf you're interested, then hit that apply button or reach out to Niamh Nolan directly on Niamh.nolan@
