Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: GloucesterSalary: £50,000 - £70,000 Per AnnumWorking Hours: Monday - FridayOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently supporting one of our established and expanding HVAC clients within Gloucestershire in their search for an experienced Mechanical Design EngineerThis role involves designing and engineering smoke ventilation systems in compliance with the latest fire safety and building regulationsThis role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience in ventilation system design, who is comfortable working on multiple projects and collaborating closely with internal teams, contractors, and clients.Key Responsibilities:Design HVAC and ventilation systems in line with project specifications, building regulations, and relevant standardsProduce detailed mechanical design drawings, calculations, and technical documentationCarry out airflow calculations, duct sizing, equipment selection, and system layoutsCoordinate designs with other disciplines, including electrical, architectural, and structural teamsSupport projects through all design stages, including concept, detailed design, and constructionRespond to technical queries and provide design support during installationEnsure designs are compliant with current legislation, industry standards, and best practicesSkills & Experience:Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within the HVAC industryStrong background in ventilation system design (residential and/or commercial)Good working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. Building Regulations, BS, CIBSE guidelines)Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar HVAC design toolsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesStrong communication and coordination skills
