Garment Technologist – Sportswear / Streetwear / CasualwearA fast-growing, wholesale-led global sportswear/streetwear brand is seeking a Garment Technologist to support the development and production of its sportswear/streetwear mens and womens collections.This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys pace, ownership and solving technical challenges, working closely with Design, Product and an offshore supply base.The RoleYou will be responsible for the technical development and quality execution of core sportswear, streetwear and casual apparel products, including:Hoodies and SweatshirtsTracksuits and JoggersT-shirts and Casual TopsShorts and Casual BottomsLight Jackets, Windbreakers and OuterwearYou will manage the product lifecycle from first sample through to bulk production, ensuring garments meet fit, quality, performance and all quality requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesManage technical development from concept through to bulk productionConduct and lead fit sessions (live model), confidently sealing bulk approvalsReview and approve samples at all stages (proto, SMS, PPS, shipment)Create, update and maintain garment specifications, tech packs and measurement chartsEnsure garments meet fit, performance, safety and legislative standardsApprove and analyse test reports; manage testing trackers and follow-upsCommunicate directly with offshore factories (primarily Far East) to resolve fit, construction and quality issuesSupport wash-care labelling accuracy and complianceContribute to quality control reporting and analysis of product returnsWork closely with Design and Product teams on fabric, trim and construction choicesMake sound commercial decisions balancing quality, cost and timelinesIdentify and implement improvements to technical processes and ways of workingAbout YouMore than 2 years’ experience as a Garment Technologist within fashion, streetwear, sportswear or casualwearStrong knowledge of garment construction, fitting, grading, pattern cutting and fabricsExperience working on casual and streetwear product types such as hoodies, tracksuits, tees and jacketsConfident working directly with offshore suppliers and technical laboratoriesCommercially aware with a practical, solutions-focused mindsetHighly organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and MS OfficeDesirableExperience within wholesale-led apparel businessesExposure to performance or different fabric constructionsUnderstanding of returns analysis and quality improvement processesWhy ApplyExcellent salary, annual bonus, annual salary review, 33 days holidays including bank holidays, company pension contribution, clothing discountCareer Growth and stabilityHigh level of ownership across product and productionClose collaboration with Design and Product teamsOpportunity to influence quality, fit and executionBe part of a fast-moving, ambitious apparel business.
