You’ll work in an ITIL-based environment supporting multiple projects across different layers, delivering technical outputs that ensure secure, efficient transfer of data and the delivery of key communications and network systems.Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with project managers and technical leads to deliver quality outputs, assist with system implementations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, develop processes, and support the team by sharing knowledge, providing practical solutions, and help maintain high standards.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeInvestigate and resolve technical issues across existing networks and systemsSupport multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of technical outputsImplement and configure new systems and solutionsEssential Experience Of The Network EngineerHands-on experience in networking, IT and communicationsPrior experience as a network engineer within an IT departmentSupport an existing Juniper SRX based network with cyber patches/issue investigation as and when needed (using VPNs, VLANS, within ESXi server environment)Understanding of Microsoft, Windows, Linux, Juniper or coding environments would be advantageousAbility to investigate problems and provide solutions to complex network issuesProfessionalism and experience in a structured IT environmentEssential Qualifications For The Network EngineerDegree in engineering or equivalent IT-related experienceWe value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at Portsmouth.Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and tested effectively to meet operational requirements.
