We do more than help experts across the medical community keep up with science; we help them move it forward, making healthcare smarter and more human.About The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Identifying and verifying unmet professional practice gaps and learning objectives within the clinical landscape when responding to RFPs, educational grant applications, and for Springer Health+ IME initiativesDeveloping and delivering scientific and clinical IME programmes based on needs assessments that are compliant with good CME practice guidelines, where appropriateIdentifying, recruiting, and building good relationships with KOLs for IME programmesProviding on-site scientific support for educational events and, where appropriate, being a representative for Springer Health+ IME at funder meetingsLeading the content creation for IME programmes, in liaison with internationally renowned clinical KOLs, and having oversight of all editorial aspects of their assigned portfolio of independent medical education projectsRole Responsibilities:Educational strategy and programme developmentDevelop IME programmes through rigorous needs assessments, identification of professional practice gaps, and definition of learning objectivesIdentify and build relationships with KOLs within therapy areas to advise on programme design and content developmentBe able to gain a working knowledge of a novel therapy area quickly to enable constructive discussions with KOLsBe involved in tasks and initiatives outside of traditional editorial to fulfil wider IME strategy goals Lead on the creation of content for IME programmesEditorial workAccurately and effectively brief KOLs to ensure content delivered is appropriate and on timeWrite, edit, data check and proofread all content for projects to a high level of scientific and clinical accuracy, flow, and consistency to ensure high-quality deliverablesLead the content development for a suite of IME activity formats including but not limited to eLearning modules, live scientific meeting slides, live and recorded webinars, podcasts, infographics, clinical aids, expert discussion videos, etcProvide commentary and analytics to support development of outcomes reporting across IME programmesCollaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of IME projectsAdvise on appropriate formats and design for educational initiatives in order to meet identified learning gaps and maximise learner engagement with the contentKeep up to date with and integrate best practice instructional design concepts into the design and delivery of programmesAttend live events (face-to-face and virtual) as the Springer Health+ IME scientific representativeMaintain a good working knowledge of therapy areas of interestBe point of contact for scientific enquiriesEnsure adherence to budgets and deadlinesBusiness developmentProvide valued scientific and clinical input into business proposals and new business initiativesWhere appropriate, attend funder and KOL meetings as the Springer Health+ IME scientific representativeOther General DutiesInternational travel, as requiredAny other duties as requested by the Principal Medical Education WriterExperience, Skills & Qualifications:EssentialLife science degreePrevious medical writing experience within the Medical Communications/Medical Education industryExcellent spoken and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsPro-active, resourceful and a good team-playerAdaptable and willing to take on new and different responsibilities as they ariseFluent in English, written and spokenDesiredHigher degreeLive events experience, both face-to-face and digital eventsExperience/knowledge of instructional design or storyboardingExperience of liaising with international clinical KOLsExperience within or knowledge of the IME/CME industryAt Springer Nature, we value the diversity of our teams and work to build an inclusive culture, where people are treated fairly and can bring their differences to work and thrive.
