Resilience & Emergency Planning OfficerPermanentGrade D - £45,091 – £53,460Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity ReviewWorking 36.5 hours per week (must be willing to work non-standard hours and participate in out of hours duty rota)This post is within the Resilience & Operations team, within the Community Safety, Resilience & Prevent division. The purpose of this role is to support the Councils remit under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and other relevant legislation.What You Will DoPreparation, maintenance, training and exercising of contingency plans Advising on business continuity to both internal and external clients Providing a 24/7 out of hours support to emergencies as part of a rota system Management of emergency incidents Working flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary teamAbout YouQualification: Diploma (or equivalent) in emergency planning, business continuity or related field and three years’ experience of working in an emergency planning environment OR a Degree in crisis management or a related discipline and two years’ experience of working in an emergency planning environment.Experience in Emergency Planning or Business Continuity Planning and a clear understanding of the related legislation and principals. Experience of working with people/stakeholders at all levels of seniority to deliver effective partnership working.An ability to deal calmly with crises by analysing problems and the confidence to make decisions both independently and collectively.
