Our team in Battersea are looking for a Service Engineer Level 2 to join the team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and repairing our fleet, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required technical standards.You will work closely with your Team Leader and Production Manager, taking responsibility for a variety of engineering tasks while contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.What We're Looking ForYou'll be a great fit for this role if you have:Completion of an Apprenticeship or skills development programme equivalent to NVQ Level 3A strong understanding of rolling stock engineering (demonstrated through interview or assessment)Familiarity with the rolling stock maintained or repaired by SouthernThe ability to meet Engineering medical standardsEligibility to complete PTS and Designated Person (Track) trainingCompetence in fault-finding on unitsA willingness to develop new skills related to train maintenanceThe capability to brief, coach, advise, and mentor colleaguesWhat you'll be doing?As a Service Engineer Level 2, your responsibilities will include:Carrying out repairs or additional work identified during examinations (Mechanical, Electrical or Vehicle Building)Completing component changes and heavy lifts when requiredWorking effectively within the team, including taking the lead when appropriateFollowing all safety procedures and responsibilitiesCompleting relevant documentation accuratelyTaking a proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvementReady to apply?If you have the required experience and are looking for a role that supports your ongoing development in a busy and rewarding engineering environment, we look forward to receiving your application.
