Job DescriptionGrade UE06: £34,610- £39,906 per annumCMVM / INCR/ Edinburgh Clinical Research FacilityFull-time: 35 hours per weekOpen Ended: Permanent ContractThe OpportunityThe Edinburgh Clinical Research Facility Genetics Laboratory requires a Senior Research Technician to work on projects providing a genetic analysis service to researchers. The successful candidate will join a team supporting the technical aspects of various clinical research projects. The work involves preparation of sequencing libraries, running the sequencing platforms, providing data reports and answering researcher queries, as well as managing projects through the workflows.Applicants are expected to have acquired the essential skills, knowledge, experience and abilities required of the post and as outlined in the person specification. You will have obtained a Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification and will have work experience in relevant technical and clinical governance roles. Applicants must demonstrate extensive knowledge of a range of genomic analysis techniques. The Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility was established in the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh in July 2001 as the first dedicated CRF in Scotland. Further facilities opened at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 2003 and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (Children’s CRF) in 2009.At Edinburgh CRF, we are dedicated to delivering high quality, multi-disciplinary patient-orientated research.
