Retoucher (E-commerce) Responsible to:Lead E-commerce Production Manager Responsible for:Retouch Team (E-commerce) Department:JD Content Location:The Sharp Project, Manchester Role Overview:We’re seeking a highly skilled e-commerce retoucher with strong technical ability, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working in high-volume environments. The role focuses primarily on e-commerce product imagery. You’ll ensure consistency across all outputs, with a strong emphasis on colour matching, image processing, and product-detail accuracy. Key Areas of ResponsibilityRetouch large volumes of e-commerce product imagery to brand standardsPerform colour matching, image processing, clean-ups, shape adjustments, and consistency checks across fasciasMaintain accurate representation of materials, textures, colours, and product detailsEnsure colour accuracy and continuity between product imagery, samples, and campaign referencesSupport wider retouching team during peak periods where necessaryPrepare assets for web: naming, resizing, exports, optimisation, colour profile managementMaintain a consistent look and feel across all product categoriesManage daily workload and turnaround times in a fast-paced studio environmentMaintain organised file structures, workflows, and documentationAdhere to e-commerce guidelines across JD UK, International, Street & OutdoorsAssist with Quality Control checks for e-commerce imagery when requiredAttend and contribute to team meetingsMaintain general tidiness of studio and equipmentRespond promptly and positively to emails and other forms of communicationWork across the studio when requiredMaintain a positive attitude and always strive to find solutionsBe an advocate for the JD Studio Team Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:2–4+ years professional e-commerce retouching experienceExpert proficiency in Adobe PhotoshopKeen eye for product details, texture accuracy, and brand consistencyStrong capability in colour matching and image processingAbility to handle high-volume workflows with speed and precisionUnderstanding of campaign and paid-social formats and requirementsExperience working within a creative teamKnowledge of colour management, lighting, and digital asset delivery Nice to haveWorking knowledge of Capture OneExperience in Quality Control (QC) of e-commerce imageryExperience with DAMS and/or CMS/assets delivery systemsAbility to conduct site walks or content audits for accuracy on live product pagesExperience with a range of digital productivity, collaboration and project-management toolsFamiliarity with basic video editingFamiliarity with actions and automation to improve workflow efficiencyFamiliarity with AI tools to streamline processes We know our colleagues work tirelessly to make JD Sports the success it is today and in turn, we offer them some amazing benefits including staff Discount On JD Group and other brands within the organisation and personal development opportunities to learn and develop at work.
