We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Buyer to join the Pet category team at B&M.We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Senior Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Head of Buying, you will take ownership of several core Pet categories, shaping and driving their commercial performance.In this role, you will source and manage suppliers, negotiate optimal terms, and deliver a competitive product range that meets the needs of our customers.This is a full-time, permanent position based 5 days a week at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool.Key Responsibilities:Source and manage the product range across multiple suppliersReview existing products, introduce new lines, and identify market gapsLead supplier negotiations, including pack sizes, packaging, lead times, promotions, cost prices, and joint business plansAnalyse sales data, update reports, and support merchandisers with sales forecastingCollaborate with merchandisers and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate product deliveryPlan and prepare for event sign-off meetings with the Head of BuyingPlan the monthly promotional calendar and successfully execute sales-driving eventsMonitor competitor activity weekly and set retail prices accordinglyBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliersManage and develop a Junior Buyer and an Assistant BuyerAbout You:Minimum of 2 years’ experience at Senior Buyer levelPet buying experience or knowledge is desirableFOB importing experience is essentialExperience managing large, branded suppliers is essentialProven track record of achieving targets and delivering growthExcellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skillsAble to build productive relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, including those in the Far EastConfident using data to interpret trends and drive decisionsA positive, self-motivated team player with a flexible approachIf you’re ready to take the next step in your career and make a real impact within a dynamic team, we would love to hear from you.We offer a range of great benefits including store discounts, access to our colleague portal offering discounts across multiple retailers, hospitality perks, and much more!
