Civil Design Engineer/Senior Civil Design Engineer/ Principal Civil Design Engineer – WaterLocation: North West/Hybrid Contract Type: Permanent Or Contract (Outside IR35) - Full Time The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Civil/Senior Or Principal Design Engineer to produce high-quality civil engineering design deliverables across the regulated water industry. You will play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient designs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and supporting the development of CAD technicians.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce civil engineering design deliverables that meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirementsPrepare design calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and design risk assessmentsDeliver designs in accordance with relevant technical, professional, and water company standardsCarry out hydraulic calculations and prepare hydraulic profilesDirect, mentor, and develop CAD techniciansEnsure all design changes are fully implemented, recorded, and controlledWork in line with formal design processes and proceduresAssist with estimating design hours and input into project planningAttend and present at design meetings and project presentationsRequired Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 5-10 years’ relevant design experience within the regulated water industryExperience producing designs for water sector projectsBackground as a Graduate Engineer, HND-qualified, or significant experience gained from technician levelStrong IT skillsRegistered with a professional body and working towards Chartered Engineer statusPreferred Qualifications & ExperienceChartered Engineer (CEng)Experience in carrying out hydraulic calculations and preparing hydraulic profilesExperience in both clean water and wastewater projectsExperience in infrastructure and non-infrastructure designInvolvement in both outline and detailed design stagesAwareness of construction methods and materialsStrong knowledge of Engineering Drawing PracticesFull driving licence and access to a vehicleApply now to join a team delivering essential water infrastructure projects
