Delivering all three business area capabilities in Geointelligence, Robotics & Space Operations, and Satellite Systems, our UK team provides support to our European-based customers while specializing in the development of advanced space sensors for exploration missions as well as space-based communication technology. As our presence grows overseas, so does our need for new ambitious team players to help us advance our place in the Universe and beyond.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and integrate mechanical and electrical components, sub-assemblies, and systems according to technical drawings and work instructionsPerform electrical wiring, cable harnessing, and connector terminations following industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620).Perform soldering and rework activities following industry standards (e.g. IPC-J-STD-001)Creating and maintaining risk assessmentsRecord test data accurately and complete all documentation required by the project or quality management system.Diagnose and troubleshoot assembly or test issues and support engineering in root-cause analysis and corrective actions.Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe working environment.Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality assurance procedures.Support continuous improvement initiatives within the AIT departmentRequirementsONC / HNC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering (or relevant experience).Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a hands-on assembly, integration, or test role—ideally within aerospace, defense or electronics.Excellent organisational skillsStrong practical skills in mechanical fitting, wiring, and assembly.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Experience using hand tools, torque tools, and test instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.Good problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.Knowledge of health 'safety and cleanroom/ESD practices.Fibre optics handling and cleaning experience.We’re a dream team of purpose-driven, collaborative and passionate people, and we are constantly looking for others to join #TeamMDA to ignite new and innovative approaches to problem-solving that push us forward to improve life on and above Earth.
