Network EngineerLocation: Aberdeen (preferable), Perth, Inverness or GlasgowRole Type: Permanent, Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK SC clearance (5 years UK residency)The RoleOne of our utilities clients is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support the design, delivery, and ongoing improvement of secure network solutions within a critical infrastructure environment.This is a hands-on role focused on design, configuration, and support rather than purely physical installation. You will work across a complex operational network that connects remote sites, control systems, and operational facilities, helping ensure reliable and secure connectivity.You’ll be involved throughout the full lifecycle of network solutions - from concept and design through to implementation and steady-state operation - working closely with internal teams and external partners.ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver network solutions in line with agreed security and operational standardsProvide support for operational technology (OT) networksMaintain and understand LAN and WAN network topology (logical and physical)Support the development of network strategy and roadmap activitiesIdentify network risks and contribute practical mitigation strategiesWork with suppliers and stakeholders to deliver resilient network solutionsSkills & ExperienceStrong experience designing and configuring network solutionsGood knowledge of LAN, WAN, QoS, and firewall technologiesSolid understanding of network security principlesHands-on experience with Cisco (preferably certified)Experience with enterprise firewalls (preferably Palo Alto)Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to varied audiencesStructured and methodical approach to problem-solving and documentationBenefitsCompetitive salary and pensionHealth and wellbeing supportFlexible working arrangementsAccess to lifestyle and transport benefits
