We are excited to be recruiting for an Event Manager to work with us at Southbank Centre. Location: SE1 8XXSalary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experienceWork Pattern: Predominantly Monday - Friday but flexibility over weekends/evenings may be required for events Key Responsibilities:Understanding the requirements of clients and coming up with innovative ideas for eventsEstablishing and agreeing upon important parameters, such as budgets and timeframesLogistics, problem solvingExcellent communication skillsAccount managementResearching suppliers and contractors and negotiating favourable dealsProviding clients or management with regular updatesCoordinating activities on the day of an event and implement back-up plans when necessaryPerforming post-event evaluation and documenting findingsManaging post-event activities, such as the cleaning of venues and the payment of suppliersOur Ideal Candidates:A creative mind and a flair for entertainment to create exciting eventsExcellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasksThe ability to perform well under pressure and remain calm in crisis situationsThe ability to multitask, as the job often requires dealing with multiple parties and tasks concurrentlyAttention to detail to ensure that every aspect of an event is perfectStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet when unexpected events occurStrong negotiation skills to effectively deal with suppliers and contractorsExcellent interpersonal skills, as the job constantly involves working with peopleWhat's in it for you?
