If you want to help shape the future of a growing company - and grow with it - you’ll fit right in.THE ROLEWe’re looking for a skilled Repairs & Maintenance Technician who is ideally (but not a deal breaker!) qualified in both electrical and plumbing work. You’ll support both MAKE IT Bow and MAKE IT Barking, attending whichever site requires maintenance that week. This is a varied, practical and hands-on role. You’ll carry out repairs, handle electrical and plumbing tasks within your qualification level, complete preventative maintenance, and support Studio & Community Managers with day-to-day operational needs. You will work under the Head of Operations, with daily coordination from Studio & Community Managers for task lists, site priorities and access. This is a part-time position (2 days per week), ideal for someone who enjoys flexible, rewarding work in creative community spaces.WHAT YOU’LL DORepairs & MaintenanceCarry out electrical repairs, lighting fixes and small installationsHandle plumbing tasks such as leaks, blockages and fixturesComplete general repairs, joinery and small building worksDeliver painting and decorating tasks to maintain presentationPreventative & Safety ChecksComplete weekly building condition checksIdentify issues early and report risks promptlySupport basic safety checks under HoO directionOperational SupportWork closely with Studio & Community Managers on daily tasksAssist with hire space setup and breakdown when neededFix equipment, furniture and fittingsMaintain tools, materials and stockCross-Site WorkWork across both MAKE IT Bow and MAKE IT BarkingPrioritise tasks based on site requirementsKeep both buildings safe, functional and looking their bestWHAT YOU'LL BRINGExperience & SkillsElectricaL (Ideally Level 2/3 or equivalent)Plumbing (Ideally NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)Strong general maintenance, painting and DIY skillsExperience in multi-trade roles, facilities or property maintenanceAbility to diagnose and solve problems independentlyBehavioursReliable, organised and self-motivatedFriendly, approachable and respectfulCalm under pressure with a solutions-first mindsetTakes pride in craftsmanship and detailStrong communication skillsPositive, flexible and team-orientedREPORTING LINESReports to:Head of OperationsWorks closely with:Studio & Community Managers - daily coordination & task prioritiesExternal contractors - when specialist work is requiredWHAT YOU’LL USEBasic reporting via Google WorkspaceTools, equipment and materials relevant to repairs & maintenanceInternal communication tools for daily coordinationPERKS & BENEFITSAnnual Bonus SchemeA performance-linked annual bonus recognising great work and contribution to the business.33 Days Holiday inclusive of Bank Holidays Pro-RataPlus one additional day for every year of service.Two Team Days a Year A full-team Summer Day and Winter Day where we close shop, step out together and reset as a group.
