Editor, (Junior level) Energy Transition Supply ChainsFull TimeDescriptionYou will join the Benchmark Source team at Benchmark Mineral Intelligence (Benchmark), the world’s leading intelligence provider for the electric vehicle (EV) and lithium ion battery supply chain.You will be tasked with creating data-driven news analysis, features, and other content for Benchmark’s multi-media subscription service, Benchmark Source, with a particular focus on the upstream and raw material markets, although fully supply chain coverage will be expected.This will require information collection from both Benchmark’s expert teams of in-house analysts and from contacts from across the lithium ion battery supply chain from mine to EV. Coverage of other clean energy supply chains including rare earths and copper, will be included.Strong writing skills are a must. The successful candidate must be able to combine analytical rigour with strong narrative skills to produce persuasive, data-driven content tailored to diverse audiences.You will also be required to use Benchmark’s proprietary datasets and excel to support your written analysis. You will also work closely with Benchmark’s design teams to support the delivery of Benchmark’s online content, infographics, newsletters, and video content.It is key that you are a motivated individual that is eager to understand the energy storage revolution and the key commercial developments that are making it a reality.Over time it will be expected that you take on more responsibilities in the role so having a willingness for this is key. This includes direct client liaison, representing the company at conferences and supporting sales and marketing efforts to help promote Benchmark Services.This role will hybrid, working predominantly in the office although home working some days is anticipated.Key responsibilitiesProduce written analysis and content on the global energy storage supply chain for Benchmark’s website, newsletters and ad-hoc white papers.Work with Benchmark’s analysts and use Benchmark’s data to support producing contentWork with Benchmark’s design teams and data visualisation software to create graphics and chartsYou will be expected to support in editing and proofing of articles of fellow team membersGather first-hand information from interviews and communications with key industry figures where relevantDevelop contacts in lithium ion and other clean energy supply chainsEngage with the wider Benchmark team to share insight and market informationSupport the Benchmark Source team to deliver high quality contentSupport day-to-day administrative tasks for the teamWork with other teams (design, video, sales etc) to support the delivery of Benchmark contentRequirements1+ years’ experience in an analyst, price reporter, or journalist roleHave a base understanding of the battery industry and its supply chainExcellent written communication and attention to detailComfortable working with data and excelSkills in data visualisation would be a plusComfortable speaking to all members of Benchmark’s teams and senior representatives of the industryBenefits include:Competitive Salary 25 Days Holiday (fixed) + 1 day off for your Birthday2 Mental health days per yearStatutory Pension ContributionStaff social events
