Job summaryWe are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Salaried General Practitioner (GP) to join the friendly and forward-thinking team at Exmoor Surgery, based in London, W10.This position consists of 6 clinical sessions, with 2 sessions per day (AM & PM) on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and includes a share of on-call duties. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP who values innovation, collaboration, and making a real difference within a practice focused on continuous improvement.Main duties of the jobThe Salaried GP will be responsible for delivering high-quality primary care services to patients, including conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations, managing long-term conditions, handling acute presentations, and carrying out clinical administration such as prescriptions, referrals, and test result reviews. The role also includes participation in on-call duties, supporting clinical audits, contributing to practice development, and collaborating with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, patient-centred care. The surgery places a strong emphasis on quality of care, patient confidentiality, and feedback, encouraging patients to share their experiences through compliments, suggestions, or complaints to continuously improve service delivery.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities:In accordance with the practice timetable, the GP will work autonomously, delivering care within their scope of practice to the patient population. Contributing towards clinical areas such as health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, well-women and well man clinics as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure.Manage patients presenting with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions, providing subject matter expert advice to patientsImplement and evaluate individual specialised treatment plans for chronic disease patientsIdentify, manage and support patients as risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects on the patients healthProvide advanced, specialist nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSFProvide wound care (ulcer /Doppler etc.) to patientsProvide specialist clinics such as ear syringing, contraception etc.Undertake the collection of pathological specimensProvide travel medicine servicesRequest pathology services as necessaryProcess and interpret pathology and other test results as requiredProvide chronic disease clinics, delivering patient care as necessary, referring patients to secondary / specialist care as requiredMaintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with extant legislationEnsure read codes are used effectivelyMaintain chronic disease registersPrioritise health issues and intervene appropriatelySupport the team in dealing with clinical emergenciesRecognise, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needsImplement vaccination programmes for adults and childrenDelegate clinical responsibilities appropriately (ensuring safe practice and the task is within the scope of practice of the individual)Support the clinical team with all safeguarding matters, in accordance with local and national policiesUnderstand practice and local policies for substance abuse and addictive behaviour, referring patients appropriatelyDeliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriateExtended and supplementary prescriber, adhering to extant guidanceSupport patients in the use of their prescribed medicines or over the counter medicines (within own scope of practice), reviewing annually as requiredContribute to practice targets (QOF etc.), complying with local and regional guidanceLiaise with external services / agencies to ensure the patient is supported appropriately (vulnerable patients etc.)Other responsibilities within the organisation:Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.Participate in local initiatives to enhance service deliver and patient care.Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA).Drives the development of nursing services within the practice, liaising with external agencies and professional organisations are requiredAttending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.Person SpecificationQualificationsEssentialFull registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practiseInclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers ListMRCGP qualification (or equivalent)Right to work in the UKUK RegistrationApplicants must have current UK professional registration.
