Contract Overhead Cable Linesman (132kV–400kV Transmission Lines)Job Title: Contract Overhead Cable Linesman (132kV–400kV Transmission Lines)Location: South EnglandContract duration: 3 months (May – August 2026)Salary: £350 – £400 per dayAbout the role:We are seeking an experienced Contract Overhead Linesman to support a refurbishment project on existing 132kV–400kV high voltage transmission lines across South England. The role focuses on the replacement of insulators and associated line hardware in accordance with National Grid standards and specifications. This position is suited to individuals with strong transmission experience who are comfortable working during line closures and isolations.Key Responsibilities:Refurbish existing HV transmission lines (132kV–400kV)Replace insulators, including downlead insulators, spacers, downlead spacers, and associated accessoriesWork safely and efficiently during line closures and isolationsCarry out inspections and assessments to identify defects and refurbishment requirementsEnsure all work is completed in line with National Grid standards and health 'safety regulationsCollaborate with the project team to achieve programme targetsAccurately record work completed and report progress to site managementProfessional and Personal Attributes:Qualified Overhead Linesman or equivalent transmission line experienceProven experience working on 132kV–400kV overhead transmission linesStrong background in insulator and line hardware replacementGood understanding of electrical safety rules and isolation proceduresAbility to work at height and outdoors in varying weather conditionsStrong safety-first mindset and attention to detailReliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a teamDesirable: Time-served apprenticeship, Level 3 Power Industry Overhead Linesperson, ECS card, ERSU certification#OverheadLines #Linesman #TransmissionLines #132kV #400kV #NationalGrid #ContractWork #PowerIndustry #HV #Refurbishment #SouthEnglan
