Job Description

Heres your chance to own full, end-to-end exterior lighting development for a fast-moving two-wheeler and mobility programme.Make sure to read the full description below, and please apply immediately if you are confident you meet all the requirements. This is not a desk-bound CAD role. Youll take real products from a blank sheet through to Start of Production, work directly with Tier-1 suppliers, and see your designs on the road. You wont be boxed into a narrow discipline either. This role sits right at the intersection of styling, engineering, cost, manufacturing, and regulation - exactly where real vehicle programmes succeed or fail. And this isnt about specifying off-the-shelf lamps. Youll be developing fully engineered lighting systems under aggressive cost, packaging, and regulatory constraints for mass-market production. If youre tired of roles where nothing ever gets launched, this is where your work actually ships. What youll doBring your exterior lighting engineering expertise to these vehicle development programmes, with a strong focus on motorcycles and light mobility platforms. Youll own lighting systems from concept packaging with styling through to SOP, including feasibility, CAD design, supplier interface, validation, homologation, and production support.Youll work directly with global Tier-1 lighting suppliers to manage RFQs, DVPs, tooling reviews, prototypes, first-off parts and production ramps - fixing real-world manufacturing and quality issues as they happen. What youll needSignificant recent experience in automotive or motorcycle lighting systems engineering. You must have taken at least one full exterior lighting system from concept to production. Concept-only profiles will not fit this role.Strong 3D CAD capability in Creo, CATIA, or SolidWorks, with hands-on experience across both A-surface and B-surface design for complex injection-moulded, sealed lighting components.Solid understanding of LED and electronic packaging (PCB, drivers, cooling, harness interfaces). You wont design electronics, but you must know how to package for them. You must be someone whos genuinely worked through the trade-offs between styling, manufacturability and cost not just drawn pretty lamps.About the company. My client is a specialist engineering and innovation consultancy operating within the global mobility, EV, transport, and advanced engineering sectors. The company works with OEMs, start-ups, and innovation consortia to deliver complex, high-value technical programmes across multiple international markets. With strong roots in the UK and India and expanding operations in Africa and emerging mobility markets, they are entering a deliberate scale-up phase. The business now requires dedicated commercial leadership to drive structured global growth beyond founder-led networks. You can also connect with me Sharn Lalkiya on LinkedIn (or any other specified social media platform). Please click the Apply button.
