Due to continued growth and a strong AMP workload, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality mechanical design packages across clean and wastewater projects.This opportunity is open to both permanent candidates and Outside IR35 contractors.The Role / AssignmentProduce mechanical design calculations and drawings for water industry schemesDeliver design outputs that meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirementsCoordinate and support CAD techniciansPrepare scopes and review outputs from subcontract M&E design teamsLiaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers, including technical review of tendersPrepare design investigations, reports, and technical specificationsEnsure compliance with relevant technical, professional, and water company standardsImplement and record design changes in line with project controlsEstimate design hours and support project planningAttend and present at design and project meetingsAbout You5+ years mechanical design experience in the UK water industryExperience across wastewater and clean water, infrastructure and non-infrastructure projectsStrong hydraulic design capabilityUnderstanding of construction methods, materials, and buildabilityKnowledge of engineering drawing standardsDegree, HND, xjdpvnf or equivalent experience from technician levelChartered Engineer or working towards chartershipConfident IT user with relevant design software experienceWhats on OfferPermanent role or long-term Outside IR35 contractSecure workload within AMP programmesFlexible / hybrid working arrangements (role dependent)Opportunity to work on complex, technically interesting water projects Apply via LinkedIn or contact us directly for a confidential discussion.
