Expression of Interest – Part-time Project Manager / CoordinatorSAFXR (Safety Planning for Suicide Prevention XR) January – September 2026Care Reality is inviting expressions of interest for a part-time Project Manager / Coordinator to support delivery of SAFXR, an Innovate UK-funded collaborative programme. SAFXR is a new immersive approach to suicide prevention training and workforce mental health.SAFXR is a collaborative project led by Care Reality in partnership with NHS Education for Scotland (NES), the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI), and the Suicidal Behaviour Research Lab (SBRL) at the University of Glasgow. The project brings together expertise in immersive technology, clinical education, suicide prevention research, and lived experience insight.The roleThis role supports the day-to-day delivery of a live, multi-partner innovation project, aligning internal planning and coordination with external stakeholder engagement, including the organisation of user testing and evaluation activity during 2026, to ensure delivery against agreed objectives and timelines.The role operates within an established delivery and governance structure. Technical XR development is led by a dedicated delivery team supported by a Scrum Master, while strategic oversight is provided by the Programme Director and partner leads. The postholder will participate in weekly sprint-level coordination, contribute to monthly project and partner meetings, and support quarterly progress reviews and formal reporting checkpoints.Key responsibilitiesCoordinating day-to-day activity across a multi-partner consortiumTracking actions, milestones, dependencies, and delivery progress across workstreamsSupporting project governance, including preparation for meetings, follow-up actions, and risk and issue trackingContributing to project documentation, reporting inputs, and partner communicationsSupporting alignment with Innovate UK and UKRI delivery and reporting expectationsStakeholder engagement and user testing support will include:Support planning and coordinating user testing, focus groups, and evaluation activity during 2026Engagement with public sector stakeholders, practitioners, and delivery sitesManaging coordination of user testing sessions, including scheduling, logistics, and participant communicationActing as a coordination point between delivery partners and participating organisationsSupporting structured feedback capture and input into evaluation and reporting activityTime commitmentThe engagement is part-time and flexible, expected to average around two to three days per week across the project, with variability over time. Peaks of activity are anticipated during user testing, focus groups, and stakeholder engagement phases. The exact working pattern will be agreed based on delivery needs.Location The role must be UK-based, with Scotland-based candidates strongly preferred, ideally Glasgow or the Central Belt. Availability for some in-person activity such as workshops and testing sessions is required.Experience requiredMust haveAt least 3 years experience within a similar roleHighly organised and reliable, with a strong sense of ownership for keeping activity on trackConfident working across organisations, with the ability to build positive working relationshipsComfortable engaging with a range of stakeholdersPractical and delivery-focused, with good judgement around priorities, sequencing, and follow-upClear and professional communicator, able to convey information accurately and appropriately in both written and verbal contextsExperience in project coordination or project management roles, particularly within multi-partner or consortium-based projectsStrong planning and coordination skills, with attention to detail and follow-throughExperience working within structured governance and reporting frameworksAbility to support stakeholder engagement activity, including planning, coordination, and administration of meetings, workshops, or testing activityRight to work in the UK and UK-based for the duration of the engagementA recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, AgilePM, APM, or equivalent) is welcome, though practical coordination experience is equally valued.DesirableExperience supporting Innovate UK or UKRI-funded projectsExperience working within public–private or multi-sector partnershipsExperience coordinating pilots, user testing, focus groups, or applied research activityExposure to health, mental health, education, or wider public sector contextsFormal project management qualifications, although equivalent practical experience in coordination or delivery support roles is equally valuedThis is a fixed-term engagement from January to September 2026, offered on a part-time contract or consultancy basis. The role is sized to support a defined programme of work over the delivery period.
