ICT Technician Education SectorLocation: Thanet, KentSalary: Up to 33,000 (depending on experience)The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.Are you currently working in IT Support within the education sector?Do you enjoy being the go-to person for everything tech-related on site?Would you like to join a supportive IT company that values training, development, and progression?This role offers the chance to be based on-site at a local school in Thanet, providing day-to-day IT support and becoming the trusted technical contact for staff and students alike. While you will be mainly based at one site, you may occasionally visit two other nearby schools, so a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.You will be part of a wider team that supports several schools in the area, providing a mix of 1st to 3rd line support. The environment is friendly, fast-paced, and varied no two days are quite the same.What you will be doingActing as the main point of contact for IT support at your assigned schoolBuilding strong working relationships with teaching and support staffTroubleshooting hardware and software issues quickly and efficientlyManaging and maintaining safeguarding systems and cybersecurity toolsSupporting desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and classroom technologyAdministering networks, user accounts, and serversAssisting with telephony, Wi-Fi, and connectivity issuesWorking with colleagues at nearby schools to share knowledge and ensure consistent serviceWhat we are looking forProven IT support experience (ideally within an education setting)Strong knowledge of Windows, Google Workspace, and Apple technologiesFamiliarity with Microsoft Server, Active Directory, and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)Experience supporting a range of hardware and software used in schools e.g. SIMS, PaperCut, or safeguarding toolsExcellent communication and customer service skills calm under pressure and approachableA flexible, proactive mindset and willingness to learnDesirableKnowledge of Jamf, Apple School Manager, or Chromebook managementExperience with VLANs, VPNs, Firewalls, and routersUnderstanding of safeguarding principles and IT compliance within educationThe companyYou will be joining a well-established managed IT services provider with a strong reputation for supporting schools and businesses across Kent and beyond.
