Mechanical Fitter / Tester Permanent Role | Telford-Based | Salary up to 38,000 (DOE) Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Tester looking for a stable, permanent role where quality engineering, technical challenge, and teamwork genuinely matter? Based primarily in Telford , youll play a key role in the build, installation, and testing of high-spec mechanical and hydraulic equipmentboth in the factory and occasionally on customer sites. What Youll Be Doing Mechanical fitting and assembly of precision-engineered systems Installation of hydraulic components and pipework Setting, testing, and commissioning machinery to a high standard Reading and working from engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics Using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment Working to demanding time schedules without compromising quality Supporting fault-finding and continuous improvement activities Maintaining accurate job timesheets and documentation Actively contributing to daily toolbox talks and safety initiatives Mentoring apprentices and sharing technical knowledge Representing the business professionally on customer sites when required What Were Looking For A time-served Mechanical Fitter with a recognised apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred) Strong hands-on experience in mechanical fitting and testing Good working knowledge of hydraulic systems and schematics Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings A proactive, problem-solving mindset Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team Strong commitment to Health & Safety, Quality, and best practice Flexible attitude to overtime (including short-notice and weekends when required) Desirable (but not essential) Testing experience would be really advantageous but not essential - willing to consider CV's for fitters Full UK driving licence Valid passport for occasional site travel Whats On Offer Permanent position with long-term stability Salary up to 38,000 , depending on experience Regular overtime opportunities Varied and technically interesting work Supportive team environment with strong engineering standards Opportunity to work on high-value, bespoke equipment If youre a skilled Mechanical Fitter / Tester who takes pride in delivering high-quality engineering and wants a role where your expertise is genuinely valued, this is an opportunity not to be missed, please hit "APPLY" now!
