Class 2 LGV Driver & Loader – Waste & Recycling Employer: Swift Temps Ltd – Driving Recruitment Division Location: Rotherham, Hellaby Depot, S66 8QL Pay Rate: £14.82 per hour (PAYE) Hours: Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours per week Job Type: Full-time, ongoing contract About the Role: Swift Temps Ltd is currently recruiting an experienced Class 2 LGV Driver & Loader to join the Waste and Recycling Collection Team supporting the local authority in the Rotherham area. This is an excellent ongoing opportunity offering consistent work, a supportive team environment, and a structured full-time schedule. You will be responsible for driving a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle and assisting with the loading of domestic and commercial waste, working as part of a close-knit crew. Key Responsibilities: * Drive a Class 2 Refuse Collection Vehicle (RCV) on designated waste and recycling routes. * Work as part of a small team to collect household and commercial waste and recyclables across the borough. * Assist with manual loading and bin movements where required. * Walk significant distances daily (approx. 8–10 miles) and carry out physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions. * Ensure safe and compliant vehicle operation in line with company and council procedures. * Maintain excellent customer service standards when dealing with members of the public. * Accurately record data on the in-cab Bartec system and report any issues such as contamination or missed collections. Requirements: * Minimum 2 years’ Class 2 (Category C) driving experience. * Full UK Driving Licence (with no more than 6 points). * Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. * Physically fit and comfortable performing manual handling and loading duties. * Previous experience in waste, recycling, or local authority driving is highly desirable. * A strong understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace.
