Job Title: Naval ArchitectCheck you match the skill requirements for this role, as well as associated experience, then apply with your CV below.Location: Bristol - Hybrid - Minimum 1 day per week on-siteRole Type: PermanentSalary: 50,000 - 65,000 per annum depending on experienceOur client, an established marine engineering firm, require an experienced Naval Architect to join their multi-disciplined team.Within the Vehicle Control team, you will be working alongside a team of experts within Naval Architecture and the Whole Boat Design Team in one of the largest and fastest growing Naval Architecture Departments in the UK. Positions are available from Senior to Principal level. Please note we can only consider sole UK Nationals (no dual nationalities) What the role of the Naval Architect entails:Some of the main duties of the Naval Architect will include:Conducting analysis and evaluation of ship platforms manoeuvring performance from concept design to in-service supportUndertaking development, verification and validation of mathematical manoeuvring model using physical model test dataGeneration of Safe Manoeuvring Envelopes and supporting associated operator guidanceYou will be working with enterprise partners to develop the modelling capability, processes and toolsets for use to support our major programmesWorking collaboratively with other naval architecture teams, systems teams, Active Vehicle Control system teams and propulsion engineers as well as customers and suppliers to deliver innovative 'safe vessel solutionsSupporting & conducting hydrodynamic sea trials such as depth and heading control, including test form development and post-trial data analysis What experience you need to be the successful Naval Architect:Essential:Experience in the generation of ship or submarine manoeuvring modellingAdvanced numeracy and analytical skillsA strong understanding of hydrodynamic principles and methodsDegree in Naval Architecture, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent experienceDesirable:Hydrodynamic/aerodynamic design and evaluation experiencePhysical testing experienceChartered Engineer or working towards/ability to achieve This really is a fantastic opportunity for a Naval Architect to progress their career.
