Mechanical Electrical Technician Our client, a successful manufacturing business in Norwich, are currently seeking a hands-on multi-skilled Mechanical/Electrical Technician to join their team. You will be responsible for supporting the manufacture of one-off or low-volume mechanical assemblies, ensuring precision, quality, and client satisfaction. This is a full time permanent position. Hours: * Basic hours 8:00am – 17.00pm Mon * Due to seasonal variations within the business these hours are regularly extended in the Winter, or may be reduced in the Summer. * Must be able to spend one or two nights away per month if required Benefits: * 24 days per annum (3 or 4 days to be taken over Christmas shut-down), plus public holidays. * Profit Share bonus * Opportunity to work on unique, challenging projects with creative freedom in a modern facility * Support for professional development an a collaborative, innovative work environment Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications: * 10+ years in mechanical electrical engineering within a technical manufacturing environment * Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship Level 3 or above. * Understanding and experience of manufacturing processes and technical information. * Excellent planning and prioritization skills. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to present data effectively. * Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. * Ability to lead teams and train individuals. Key Responsibilities * Assemble high quality mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and frameworks using hand and power tools with precision techniques. * Read detailed CAD models and drawings for bespoke components and assemblies. * Recommend innovative solutions for complex mechanical challenges. * Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and compliance requirements. * Work closely with subcontract machinists, fabricators, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability. * Assist with wiring LEDs, sensors, and control panels * Provide technical input during prototype builds and production runs. * Resolve design and process issues quickly to maintain project timelines. * Communicate technical concepts clearly to internal teams. * Support client reviews and incorporate feedback into design iterations. * Ensure all products meet company and regulatory quality standards. * Maintain compliance with industry regulations, health, and safety standards. * Ensure operations comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies to ensure safety and wellbeing. * Check and maintain all lifting and air equipment to ensure compliance with HSE regulations. * Ensure adherence to quality standards and certifications (such as ISO9001, ISO14001), driving the quality improvement processes.
