About our companyCamira are a multi-award-winning textile manufacturer with two centuries of heritage and a forward-thinking approach to innovation and sustainability, Camira designs and manufactures environmental fabrics for the commercial, public transport and residential sectors.Hit Apply below to send your application for consideration Ensure that your CV is up to date, and that you have read the job specs first.Purpose of the roleTo ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all site machinery by leading the maintenance function, improving engineering performance, and supporting continuous operational improvement.The day to dayTo adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirementsLead, manage, and support the Engineering and Maintenance team, including Engineers and Apprentices.Oversee preventive and reactive maintenance to ensure machinery reliability and maximise production uptime.Ensure all maintenance activities comply with manufacturing specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Provide mechanical and electrical expertise across a wide range of textile equipment.Evaluate engineering designs, prototypes, or improvements with consideration for energy efficiency and environmental impact.Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction initiatives, and engineering solutions that support operational efficiency.Support and contribute to site-wide health and safety activities.Perform any other duties as required.Other considerationsMechanical or Electrical Engineering background required; textile machinery experience desirable.Engineering qualifications (e.g., Mechanical/Electrical certificates, 17th Edition, PAT testing) preferred.Experience managing or supervising engineering teams is an advantage.Must be able to work at heights with relevant equipment.Additional desirable certificates: Fire Safety Awareness, First Aid, CDM, Manual Handling, Confined Space, MEWP, Welding, Boiler certification.Full clean driving licence required.Role is days-based with occasional call-outs (nights/weekends) and some Saturday morning shifts on a rota, paid at overtime rates.Competitive Salary23 days Holiday, plus bank holidays + Option to buyCamira ValuesOur success lies in our customers success.
