Principal WTG EngineerInitial 12 Month ContractKingston-upon-Thames, Surrey 3 days per week in office, 2 days per week working from homeOutside IR35Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunityA Principal WTG Engineer is required to work on an outside IR35 contract basis based in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey that will offer a hybrid working set up of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week working from home.As the Principal WTG Engineer, you will ideally have experience of engineering software including Bladed, Fast and Orcaflex. As Principal Engineer you will report to the Floating ILA Engineering Manager within the Offshore Wind business line. You will be responsible for all activities related to turbine design and interface with turbine OEM in offshore wind.How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:Building and verification of aeroelastic model of the turbineAs the Principal WTG Engineer, you will manage the turbine controller tuning and developmentPerform all required checks of the turbine and controllerSupport the turbine tower designMonitor, support and verify the ILAAs the Principal WTG Engineer, you will laise with external contractors related to the turbine model and controllerParticipate in the technical meetings with clientsAs the Principal WTG Engineer, you will provide a support to the Offshore Wind business unit activities, in terms of advanced and non-conventional structural analyses and numerical simulationsWrite comprehensive and top quality industry standard technical reportsWhat are we looking for?Education: Chartered Engineer (Engineering Degree - Aeronautical degree preferred)Experience: As the Principal WTG Engineer, you will have 10-15 years in design for offshore wind covering both floating and fixed wind substructuresTechnical skills: codes and standards, including DNV and IEC, turbine design, WTGIT skills: engineering software (OrcaFlex, Bladed, Fast) and MS365First Recruitment Group are committed to finding the right candidates for our clients, and the right companies for our candidates to work for.
