About the Role: We are recruiting a dedicated and experiencedSenior Childrens Residential Support Workerto join abrand-new childrens residential EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) serviceinKidderminster. This is a key leadership role within the home, supporting the management team while delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead shifts, act as a positive role model for the staff team and help create a safe, structured and nurturing environment that promotes stability, resilience and positive outcomes for children and young people. Pay & Hours: 14.95 per hour 70 per sleep-in Flexible shift work includingday, early, late and sleep-in shifts Temp-to-perm opportunitywithin a new service Key Responsibilities: Providing direct care and support to children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and additional or complex needs Leading shifts and acting as the senior on duty when required Supporting, mentoring and guiding Residential Support Workers to maintain high standards of care Assisting with care planning, risk assessments and behaviour management plans Promoting safeguarding, therapeutic approaches and trauma-informed practice Managing and responding to challenging behaviour in line with individual support plans Supporting daily routines, education, appointments and activities Transporting children and young people to education, appointments and activities when required Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reports, reviews and handovers Working closely with the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager to support the smooth running of the home Requirements: Experience working with children in aresidential or related setting(desirable) Transferable experiencefrom education, SEN, youth work, care or support work will be considered Experience supporting children withadditional or complex needs Ability to workday, early, late and sleep-in shifts Strong communication skills with acalm, professional and child-focused approach Confidence to lead shifts and support less experienced staff Willingness to commit to atemp-to-perm rolewithin abrand-new service Strong understanding of safeguarding and childrens residential regulations Resilient, reliable and motivated to support vulnerable children and young people Additional / Preferred: Full UK driving licence(preferred) Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker or in an acting senior role Knowledge of trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques and therapeutic approaches Experience working within EBD or therapeutic residential services Safeguarding: This role is subject to enhanced DBS checks and safer recruitment practices in line with safeguarding requirements.
